French brand Mavic has been producing some great wheelsets for over 100 years with some of its most recent examples scoring highly in our tests, with many even securing places in our 2018 Editor’s Choice awards.

Because of that, we feel well placed to help you navigate the dizzying array of Mavic wheel deals that can often be found online. Mavic’s range can also be quite complicated, so as a rule of thumb if the model as ‘UST’ in the name it means it’s one of the brand’s more recent models and is tubeless ready as standard featuring a wider internal rim width.

The products featured have been chosen because we know they’re good quality and are an excellent offer at the price we’ve included (at the time of writing). Our Tech team have unrivalled expertise and years of experience testing new products, so you can trust our recommendations – and we also know what represents a good deal. Where we’ve reviewed the product we’ve included a link to it so you can read more.

With each product is a ‘Buy Now’ link. If you click on this then we may receive a small amount of money from the retailer when you purchase the item. This doesn’t affect the amount you pay.

Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon UST wheelset was £1350, now £1049

The 40mm deep rims are NACA compliant which means they’re aerodynamically fast and they have a lighter weight than the previous models, making them good for the hills, too. They come with Mavic’s UST technology which means they’re tubeless ready and this also gives them a wider internal rim width of 19mm so they seat tyres better.

Mavic Ksyrium UST Disc wheels were £450, now £341.10

These Ksyrium UST wheels come with a Maxtal rim which should be seen as a step up over standard aluminium. It’s lighter, stiffer but still allows the price to be kept reasonable.

With a 19mm internal rim the UST tubeless ready wheels should be easy to set up and seat tyres more evenly.

A firm favourite of ours here at Cycling Weekly for being none other than hugely reliable wheels that offer performance at a very good price.

Tubeless ready, relatively wide in terms of internal rim width offered in a number of hub colours, you don’t need to look much further for a decent set of aluminium wheels.

The Exalith wheelset is a alloy and carbon mixed wheel to offer weight savings whilst trying to retain braking power which is where the wheels get its name from.

Exalith is a chemical treatment that reinforces the rim profile, less prone to wear and improves braking efficiency. These 45mm deep wheels will offer some aero gains and weighing in at a claimed 1650 grams they are not bad weight wise either.

Mavic Ksyrium Pro UST was £855 now £675.99

A step above the Elites featured above and as the price step up suggests they’re also a step up in terms of performance while remaining at a relatively wallet friendly price. The main difference is a nice weight saving and here at Cycling Weekly we’d say the Elite would be great for everyday riding and training where as the Pro’s would make a great criterium race wheel set.
